Fender reissues the 65′ Princeton Reverb

In this day and age of modeling amps, high gain metal amps, and boutique amps that cost more than my car many wonder, “why don’t they make em’ like they used to?”. We all have our favorite amps from the past. Why were they discontinued? What could possibly replace them? Then the public outcry begins. But is anybody listening. Yes, Fender is.

After years of watching the price of Blackface Princeton Reverbs steadily go up along with demand, Fender has reissued 65′ Princeton Reverb. Many gigging musicians regard the originals as the go to amp for small to medium club gigs. At a modest 15 watts you can get a little natural tube grit without taking the paint of the walls. The reverb is very good and it has tremolo (labeled vibrato). What’s not to love. I checked out the soundclips and was very impressed. I can see how the originals gained such popularity.

I have not seen a price list for this little beauty yet but I imagine it’s aimed at all of us working musicians who need a good amp at a good price. I’m not sure when these are hitting the stores but I will certainly be one of the first in line to fire this bad boy up.
